Is one Windows desktop not enough? Check out the easy-to-use and truly helpful GoScreen, which lets you create virtual desktops by simply dragging and dropping windows. Once you’ve set up your desktops, you can switch among them with configurable hot keys, mouse movements, the docking panel, or tray icons. The program features the ability to set “sticky” windows for frequently used apps you want to appear on all desktops. Even with 40 desktops running, the program consumed only about 5MB of system memory–impressive performance, and much improved from earlier versions. Our only usability quibble is while GoScreen doesn’t require installation, some users might still prefer a self-unpacking setup program. That tiny objection shouldn’t deter serious multitaskers, who will find this $28 desktop manager both effective and economical.
Publisher’s description
Organize and add space to your computer’s desktop by creating up to 80 virtual screen pages. Run each application, or group of applications on a separate screen. Never minimize any of the applications, never close any of them. When you switch screen pages, all running Windows programs just disappear from the screen and from the taskbar, but they are right there waiting when you switch back.
Version 5.6.0.275 adds page selector, page transition animations.
What’s new in this version:
Page Selector, page transition animations, faster desktop wallpaper changing, faster screen page switches, new category of window management rules.
