It doesn’t offer any groundbreaking features, but this application does let you create, organize, and access frequently used text and images. Clip Plus’s neatly organized interface offers numerous buttons and options for managing clip files, so it may take a trip to the extensive Help files to get you started. One hint: you’ll need to choose Start from the toolbar or menu to begin recording from the clipboard. Below the buttons are three sections for viewing, editing, and organizing clips. The program pulls text and image files from the clipboard and lists them in the upper-right section. Below that, you can view and edit a selected clip, or enter text and create a new clip. Clips can be organized into user-created categories, which are shown in a tree list in the section on the left. During the trial, you’re limited to 10 entries and the editing tools are disabled. Trial restrictions aside, this application performed well in testing and is suitable for any user looking for more clip-management options than Windows Clipboard offers.

This application stores multiple text items and images to its clipboard, although its hot key assignments failed to operate during our tests.

Clipboard Box’s intuitive, slim interface rests in your system tray for quick retrieval, and houses up to 100 clips at a time. It also collapses to the left of your screen, leaving only its arrow button visible for fast access. We were impressed with how it loaded each image and copied text in numerical order, awaiting your assignment into a document. Simply double-click the image or text on the interface when you are ready, then hit Paste in the appropriate place, just as you would when using the Windows clipboard.

Unfortunately, the hot keys associated with each image box didn’t work during tests. But even with that flaw and the 40-use trial limitation, those who often capture Web text and images will appreciate how this program lets you snatch up clips and determine their resting place later.
